Deftones have released the official music video for their latest single ‘my mind is a mountain’, giving fans a powerful first look at their forthcoming album, private music, due out August 22 via Reprise/Warner Records.
The track, which dropped last week alongside the album announcement, marks the Sacramento alt-metal veterans’ first new music in five years, following 2020’s Ohms. With its blistering riffs, thunderous drums, and Chino Moreno’s signature emotional vocals, the single sets an intense tone for what’s to come on private music.
The newly released video matches that energy. Shot in a stark, bare room, the black-and-white visuals flicker with red flashes as the band performs with raw intensity. Moreno leans into the mic, delivering the song’s soaring chorus while the band locks in behind him, capturing the urgency and atmosphere fans have come to expect from Deftones.
Alongside the single, the band also revealed a run of UK and European tour dates for early 2026. The tour will kick off on January 29 in Paris at the Adidas Arena, with stops in Brussels, Hamburg, Munich, Lodz, Berlin, Dortmund, Stuttgart, and Amsterdam.
Private music is now available for pre-order and pre-save.
