“Saturday Night Live” took on the fallout from Donald Trump’s tense meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in its latest cold open. James Austin Johnson reprised his role as Trump, with Bowen Yang as Vice President JD Vance, chastising Zelenskyy (played by Mikey Day).
The skit took an unexpected turn when Mike Myers made a surprise appearance as Elon Musk, marking his first regular “SNL” appearance since 2015. Myers, an “SNL” alum, recently appeared in the “SNL50” special but returned to the main stage as the controversial billionaire. He later joined the cast for the show’s farewell, making a subtle statement with his t-shirt.
However, many users on YouTube found it a bit too real with comments as:
“The sad thing is, what’s actually happening is so much more absurd and ridiculous than any comedy sketch. This isn’t even an exaggeration.”
“This is exactly how it was. Zelenskyy couldn’t get a word in with the Amateur ‘Negotiators'”
“This was less insane than the actual conference . Trump and Vance’s performance on the world stage will be laughed at for decades.”
