To honour Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on 22 July, Oslo City Hall has added an excerpt from the song Black Rain to its summer carillon programme. The melody will be played for the first time at 10:00 PM on Friday, 25 July 2025. The sound of the bells can be heard across much of the city.
Oslo City Hall has previously paid tribute to artists such as Motörhead and David Bowie following their deaths. The bell tower chimes every hour from 7:00 AM to midnight. The carillon consists of 49 bells — the largest weighing 4 tonnes, the smallest 14 kilograms. The city’s official carillonneur is Laura-Marie Rueslåtten
