Have you ever dreamed of owning Patrick Mameli’s sweaty, used t-shirts? The frontman of Dutch death metal band Pestilence has just put his stage-worn shirts up for sale on the band’s official Facebook page.
In a post, Mameli explained: “As you all might know, I’m leaving for Thailand after the Latin America tour. I will be selling all my Pestilence merch, worn by me during a show with my signature. Hope I can make my fans happy with it. They are in great quality, no rubbish, and worn by me. That makes it very special.”
But if Mameli expected enthusiasm, the response suggests otherwise. Most fans reacted with the “laughing” emoji, and the comments section quickly filled with mocking replies. Among them:
“Is this for real?”
“This only works if you’re Elvis.”
“How much for your bath water???”
“Does that include the Pestilence branded underwear and socks?”
“Do I have to pay extra for the creatine sweat stains?”
“Imagine being this full of yourself… 😆”
“Next step… OnlyFans?? 🙃”
“There’s only so much cringe I can handle. But, oh boy.”
“I like how humble this post is. Gives you a real down-to-earth warm fuzzy feeling 😍”
“Ohhh YES, stinky sweaty shirts from a retard, that will make us all happy. And even an AUTOGRAPH, wowzers!”
“Never heard of the band, just came for the underwear. How much?”
The list goes on for more than 80 comments, most in the same mocking tone.
It’s not the first time Mameli and Pestilence have faced backlash. Last year, the band came under fire for defending the use of AI-generated artwork on their album “Levels of Perception,” eventually scrapping the design in favour of a different cover.
