Atonement is a trio hailing from Sweden, now releasing their debut album. Previously, the band released the demo “Merciless Blasphemy” in 2021. At that time, the band members were around 16 years old, so we’re talking about a very young band here. Keeping that in mind, “Sadistic Invaders” has become an impressively crafted album. This is black thrash metal that rushes along at a devilish pace, with aggressive riffs snarling and barking in all directions. The Swedes aren’t reinventing the wheel, but they stick to classic elements within the genre. One might hope that Sadistic Invaders will eventually find a more personal style. Nevertheless, this sounds fiercely strong, and I have confidence that these guys have the potential to go far.
