Lahmia hails from Italy, and this is their debut album. The music can simply be described as melodic death metal in the typical Swedish style. Think early Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, and Arch Enemy. The first thing that strikes me is that the band hasn’t found its own identity at all. So despite skilled musicians, this becomes a band that blends right into the crowd, operating in the shadows of the Swedes. Of course, if you can’t get enough of this type of music, it might be worth checking out because there are parts here that work quite well. Nevertheless, the lack of distinctiveness makes this an average album.
