The much-talked-about Norwegian animated film Spermageddon, directed by Tommy Wirkola from Alta, will premiere in Spanish cinemas on July 25.
In Norway, the animated film was seen by over 76,000 cinema-goers and received widespread attention for its crude humour. The animated story follows two awkward teenagers preparing to have sex for the first time, while simultaneously portraying the journey of a sperm named Simen on his mission to reach the egg.
In both Sweden and Norway, petition campaigns were launched to raise the film’s age rating in an attempt to prevent young people from seeing it. However, the petitions had no effect — and only resulted in free publicity for the film.
