
March 3, 2025 – Eleonora Giorgi, the celebrated Italian actress known for her roles in both horror, comedy and drama, has passed away at the age of 71. Her family announced that she passed peacefully this morning after a long illness.
Giorgi had been receiving palliative care in a Roman clinic. In late 2023, she publicly revealed her pancreatic cancer diagnosis and courageously shared her journey, urging people to cherish life.
Best known internationally for her role in Dario Argento’s 1980 horror classic Inferno, Giorgi also starred in films like Borotalco (1982) alongside Carlo Verdone. Over her career, she worked with Italian cinema legends such as Renato Pozzetto, Nino Manfredi, and Adriano Celentano.
Her passing marks the loss of a talented actress whose work remains a lasting part of Italian film history.
