Metallica have announced a new run of North American stadium dates, extending their massive M72 World Tour into 2027. Having played 99 shows across 26 countries since the tour began in April 2023, the Live Nation-promoted trek will resume on 8 May 2027 at BC Place in Vancouver.
The 12-date run will take the band to cities across the American Southwest, Midwest and beyond, all of which will be hosting the M72 tour for the first time. The tour concludes on 19 June at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
Since its launch in 2023, the M72 World Tour has become one of the largest tours of Metallica’s more than 40-year career, attracting close to five million fans worldwide. The tour has also received widespread critical acclaim, with Billboard describing it as “an utterly life-affirming experience”, while the Los Angeles Times praised the band as sounding “as tight and furious as Metallica has in ages”.
The 2027 North American dates will follow Metallica’s Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, which runs from 1 October 2026 to 13 March 2027.
Limp Bizkit and Avatar will provide support on the North American leg.
As with previous M72 shows, a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will be donated to local charities through Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation.
Established in 2017, All Within My Hands supports workforce education, hunger relief, disaster response and other essential community services. Metallica covers the foundation’s administrative costs, allowing 100 per cent of public donations to go directly towards the organisations and programmes it supports.
To date, All Within My Hands has provided $19 million in grants for career and technical education through the Metallica Scholars Initiative, $8.8 million towards combating food insecurity, and $6.2 million for disaster relief and other critical local services around the world.
