In a troubling display of antagonism, President Donald Trump launched a scathing personal attack against revered musician Bruce Springsteen following Springsteen’s criticism of Trump’s administration during his recent concert in Manchester.
Springsteen, widely regarded as an American national treasure and a vocal critic of Trump, called the former president “unfit,” labeling his administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” He further criticized Trump’s leadership for “abandoning the world’s poorest children,” “taking sadistic pleasure in the pain inflicted on loyal American workers,” and accused Trump of siding with dictators against America’s longstanding allies.
In response, Trump unleashed an childish rant on his Truth Social platform, describing Springsteen as a “highly overrated” musician and a “pushy, obnoxious JERK.” Escalating the rhetoric dangerously, Trump disparaged Springsteen personally, referring to him as “this dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker,” whose skin he offensively described as “atrophied.” Very ironic, since Trump is actually orange in his skin tone.
Trump’s most alarming statement suggested a sinister undertone: “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare’. Then we’ll all see how it goes for him!” This thinly veiled threat has raised significant concern, prompting many to question Trump’s temperament and judgment.
