Iron Maiden have just finished their concert at Paris La Défense Arena in Paris. This came after a power outage during the eighth song, “2 Minutes to Midnight”. The band were then left without power for around an hour before continuing with “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”. However, only six more songs were played before the concert was brought to an end after “Iron Maiden”, as the clock passed 23:30. This meant they had to drop “Aces High”, “Fear of the Dark” and “Wasted Years” from the set.
Exactly what caused the power outage is unclear, but many believe it was due to the heatwave currently affecting France. What makes it even more unusual is that Iron Maiden had planned to film their next concert film in Paris that evening. Because of this, there was also a phone ban in place for the show. Despite the shortened concert and the long wait, reports also say that what Iron Maiden did deliver was absolutely fantastic.
