Boundless Chaos is from Germany and was formed in 2017. In 2020, the band released an EP, and in 2022 and 2023, two singles were released. Now, the debut album ‘Sinister Upheaval’ is finally ready, and the band presents a solid release consisting of a hybrid between death metal and thrash metal. Boundless Chaos is not reinventing the wheel, but that’s hardly the intention. They draw inspiration from their old heroes of the 80s and 90s, whether it’s Sodom, Sepultura, Possessed, Death, or Destruction, and manage to make it sound their own. More originality could certainly be desired, but if you want aggressive old-school thrash metal, Boundless Chaos delivers the goods. The standout tracks are missing, but I find myself liking the album more and more with each spin. So, ‘Sinister Upheaval’ is definitely worth checking out for those who love aggressive 80s thrash.
