Hazzerd hails from Canada and plays old-school thrash metal. The band was formed in 2013 when the members were still teenagers, and since then, they have released an EP and two albums. Their previous album, Delirium, came out in 2020, and I also gave that one a solid seven out of ten. In other words, Hazzerd sounds pretty damn good, and The 3rd Dimension is a worthy follow-up.
That said, this is a thrash metal band playing the kind of thrash we’ve been listening to for forty years now. So while it has shades of Death Angel and Kreator, we’ve heard it done better before. But then again, music doesn’t always have to be original to be enjoyable. The 3rd Dimension is still a fun ride, even if Hazzerd isn’t exactly pushing any boundaries in the genre.
