Massive Assault sounds very much like Swedish death metal in the styles that bands like Entombed and Dismember are so well known for. But don’t be fooled, because this group hails from the Netherlands. The vocals and much of the rhythmic elements also bring to mind bands that lean more towards the crust genre. It’s a blend that works excellently, combining the more massive and brutal sound with the varied and aggressive songs. The band might not have tracks that stand out significantly, but “Death Strike” is consistent and maintains a high level of quality throughout.
