If you mix groove metal with djent and progressive metal, you get this American band calling themselves Brotality, that releasing their album “The Woods Will End You”. The band is Christian, and they seem to enjoy singing about it too. They released their debut album, “Worldwide Desolation” in 2021, so they’re on the rise. The trio is certainly proficient enough. However, even though the band plays well and the production is well-crafted, this does very little for me. It simply sounds quite unappealing to my ears. The vocals are probably the worst part. The clean vocals lack power, while the growling vocals feel forced and strained. So, this is far from a band that resonates with me. It sounds like modern American groove metal but lacks the energy to truly hit the mark.
