Tommy Wirkola’s next film project is confirmed: a shark thriller over which he’ll have full creative control. The name of the movie will be Beneath the Storm. According to Deadline, filming begins in Australia after summer under Sony Pictures.
“I’m directing and writing, and Phoebe will star,” says Wirkola.
Phoebe is Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, now in high demand after the TV hit. She’s also in the Netflix thriller Fair Play alongside Alden Ehrenreich, with more thrillers on the way, including Inheritance and Anniversary.
Dynevor will now work with Norwegian filmmaker Wirkola, who alternates between bases in Norway and Hollywood and saw major success with his Christmas film Violent Night in 2022. He previously shared with NTB that he brings his unique humor into all his projects:
“I’m a big fan of making people laugh where they shouldn’t. When something is extreme—that’s the best feeling.”
