Chemicide hails from Costa Rica and was originally formed in 2006 under the name Conqueror. Since then, the band has released three albums, and now their fourth record is on the way.
The band is committed to classic thrash metal, immediately bringing to mind the ‘80s albums of bands like Kreator, Destruction, and Death Angel. The problem with bands of this type is that the music often feels uninspired—it’s something we’ve heard before, and it’s been done better. Common Sense offers nothing new under the sun.
On the positive side, the band consists of skilled musicians who execute the genre well. The sound is aggressive and tight. However, the songs themselves tend to feel repetitive and somewhat dull, leaving me more inclined to put on an old Kreator or Destruction album instead.
