Triskelyon are from Canada and formed in 2021. They’ve been prolific, with four releases already—one a year since 2022. The project is led by Geoff Waye, who plays all instruments. He brought in Raul Marques to program the drums and a long list of guest vocalists. Most of the singers are new to me, and the quality varies widely.
Triskelyon’s base is nominally thrash metal, but in truth it’s a jumble—a chaotic mash-up of genres. Perhaps that’s why the record is called “Maelstrom of Chaos”? When all’s said and done, though, I struggle to find much positive to say. The production is rock-bottom; I’d be surprised if this was recorded anywhere but a home studio, and if it wasn’t, I’d be asking for my money back. There is some good guitar work—credit to Geoff Waye—which saves the album from an absolute bottom score. It all ends with a mangled cover of the ’80s classic “Major Tom (Coming Home)” by Peter Schilling. Catastrophe complete.
Released November 28th, 2025 on Moribund Records.
