Abuser are a relatively new band from Poland. Well, they have actually been going for eight years now, but until now they have only released the demo «Demo 2019», which came out in 2019, obviously. «Blood Marks» is therefore the Poles’ debut album, and they play a form of thrash/death metal. In other words, this is pretty hard and brutal stuff, even though the riffing is firmly rooted in thrash metal. The vocals, on the other hand, are absolutely ferocious and one of the band’s biggest strengths. Not to mention Klimek’s drumming, which is seriously intense. But the whole band plays their asses off.
When it comes to musicianship and technical ability, there is very little to complain about here, because «Blood Marks» has turned out to be a pretty fierce piece of work. The only thing I can complain about is that there are quite a few similar bands out there, and what I hear does not stand out enough for this to become an album I will be playing very often. Still, «Blood Marks» is a good album, and with a little more originality, this could become even better.
Released May 7th, 2026 on Xtreem Music.
