Lead Injector are a new thrash trio from Germany who swear by the old school of thrash metal. The band were formed in 2022, and in 2024 they released a demo titled “From the Crypts… of Hell”. “Witching Attack” is therefore the band’s debut album and consists of ten tracks in the vein of thrash, black, and speed metal blended together. This wave of lo-fi necro thrash metal has been hot in the underground for more than twenty years now, and over time you’ve grown rather tired of it because everything sounds so similar. Lead Injector don’t stand out much among similar bands, but it still sounds tough, and the band have a good handful of killer riffs. Just check out the great riffs in the title track.
“Witching Attack” would have been a classic if it had come out in the 80s, and it could easily have stood alongside releases like Sodom’s “In the Sign of Evil” and Destruction’s “Sentence of Death”. But “Witching Attack” arrives forty-five years too late to belong in that company. Back then, bands were pushing boundaries and creating something new, whereas now it’s a nostalgia trip recreating something old. When it comes to Lead Injector, that’s probably entirely deliberate. Because even though this is a tough and solid record, packed with great riffs, it’s also an album that ends up a bit in the shadow of the big classics it brings to mind.
Released February 20th, 2026 on High Roller Records.
