Accuser, or Accu§er, as the band’s actual name is written, is a German thrash metal band now releasing their twelfth album. The band’s history dates back to 1986, with their debut album arriving as early as 1987. The big news since their last release is that guitarist René Schütz, who first joined in 1987, has returned after being out of the band since 2011. Several of the band’s albums have been reviewed in Scream Magazine, generally receiving lukewarm responses, with the highest ratings at four points and the lowest at two points. It is not surprising that most of the reviews, including those of the last two albums, have scored threes, as Accuser’s music is quite average. The band offers standard thrash metal that has been heard countless times before, without major surprises. Accuser is by no means bad—it is just rather dull. It is the kind of album where you can’t remember a single riff, even after listening to it ten times in a row.
